Coffee House Sessions are back at Rector’s with Luke Sital-Singh kicking it off.  Armed with just his guitar and voice, Sitgal-Singh’s indie-folk style quickly won over the crowd. Sitgal-Singh’s music is intense, dominated by his powerful voice that delivers unique sound and harmonies. My personal favorite of the evening ‘Nothing Stays the Same’, has a catchy and uplifting chorus, but with a folky twist. Sitgal-Singh’s emotional lyrics reminded me of Tom Odell, and Ed Sheeran’s more ballad type songs. The combination of Sital-Singh’s unusual voice coupled with his soulful lyrics made the evening at Rector’s enjoyable and well worth the crowd.

Sital-Singh’s laid back approach to performance paired well with Rector’s relaxed atmosphere, generating the quintessential coffee house music environment. So whether in need of some seriously awesome music, or just a quick study break, I would highly recommend attending the next Coffee House Session featuring Natalie Gauci. But definitely make sure to get there early as it’s sure to be packed.
