The White Lady, an upstart newspaper which ceased publication after just two editions, is attempting to restart.

In a memo posted to the University website, editor James Lowe advertises open positions for journalists in the re-launch of "an established newspaper."

"As the gadfly of St Andrews we aim to be the newspaper that uncovers truth, holds people to account and delivers the real story. Of course doing all of this won’t necessarily make you the most popular person in the world, but it does mean that you will be telling people the truth, unearthing practices that are not well known and asking the questions that haven’t, but need to be asked."

In an email to STAR News, Lowe confirmed that the White Lady would be re-launched.

The paper launched on September 19th and was billed as an alternative to The Saint. The lead article of the first edition blatantly challenged The Saint's dominance in journalism. "For the last fourteen years it has been the dominant and unchallenged student newspaper of St. Andrews, maintaining a monopoly on its market."

The timing of the relaunch is particularly interesting. The paper's sole sponsor in the second (and final) issue was the Kate Kennedy Club's Opening Ball.
