Europe French fried?
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has warned that “never has the risk of disintegration been greater” for Europe, while German Chancellor Angela Merkel said “we need to have more Europe”, even if the road to recovery would be a long one.
The statements come ahead of an EU summit in Brussels, where leaders will attempt to agree a deal to tackle the Eurozone debt crisis.
With plans likely to revolve around enforcing budgetary discipline, France and Germany are expected to push for new EU treaties and stricter financial regulations.
